Velvet ("we", "our", or "the app") is a Shopify app that hides product prices and buy buttons from non-B2B visitors. This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and how we protect it.
Velvet requests the following Shopify API scopes:
We do not read, store, or process any customer personal data such as names, emails, addresses, or payment information. Customer tag names are loaded on demand within the Shopify admin and are never stored outside of your Shopify store.
Velvet stores only the minimal data required to operate:
All configuration is stored in Shopify metafields on your shop, owned and controlled by you. Session data is stored in our database and deleted when you uninstall the app.
We use the data described above solely to provide the Velvet app functionality — hiding prices from non-B2B visitors and showing them to approved buyers. We do not sell, share, or use your data for any other purpose.
Velvet is hosted on Railway. No customer data is shared with any third party. We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising services.
When you uninstall Velvet, all session data is automatically deleted. Metafields created by Velvet remain in your Shopify store under your control and can be removed via the Shopify admin.
Velvet provides the mandatory GDPR webhooks required by Shopify: customer data request, customer data erasure, and shop data erasure. Since we do not store personal customer data, these webhooks acknowledge the request without requiring additional data deletion.
